The Shepherds' Play

Directed by Sam Williams

From the Secunda Pastorum of the Wakefield Cycle

Based on a famous Medieval mystery play, this humorous story of a trio of shepherds searching for their stolen sheep  and dealing with their difficult life leads to the spiritual story of the visitation of the shepherds to the Christ Child’s birth. This updated classic melds music (rap, hip-hop, jazz, and gospel), dancing and celebration to tell their story.

Breaking The Code

By Hugh Whitmore

Directed by Jason Long

An exceptional biographical drama about a man who broke too many codes – the eccentric genius Alan Turing who played a major role in winning World War II. He helped break the complex German code called Enigma, enabling Allied forces to forsee German maneuvers. No one knew how much was owed to him when he was put on trial for breaking another code: the taboo against homosexuality, the punishment for which would have devastating consequences. This play is about who he was, what happened to him and why. Rated PG.

The Beaux' Strategem

By George Farquhar

Directed by Pamela Downs

The Beaux’ Stratagem, a wicked comedy written in 1707, follows the fortunes of two dissolute young rakes who have blown their fortunes, and hence journey to the English countryside to marry for money. They encounter a variety of obstacles: a crooked landlord, a fearsome highwayman, a fervent French Count, a clever serving wench. The biggest obstacle to their scheme, however, is Love, who hilariously lies in wait for both.
