FEES & OTHER EXPENSES Enrollment Fee
A community college education is one of the best bargains around. As of fall 1999 semester, the enrollment fee for California residents is $11 per unit. (Note: A one-time-per-semester fee of $2 will be assessed each student who successfully enrolls by telephone.)Out-of-State and International Student Fees
If you have not established legal California residency for at least one year prior to the beginning of the semester in which you plan to enroll, or if you are are an international student, you must pay a nonresident fee of $125 per unit in addition to the enrollment fee. International students who are both a resident and a citizen of a foreign country may be assessed an additional $9 per-unit fee. For more information on the International Student Program, click here.Instructional Materials Fees
You may be required to provide instructional and other materials (such as art supplies or welding tools, for example) required for a credit or noncredit course. Classes requiring such fees are indicated in the class schedule (and assessed in accordance with Title V, section 59400 and District Policy 2253).Payment
You must pay fees within five working days of your registration. Failure to do so will result in you being dropped from your classes. Payment can be by check, money order or credit card (or fee waiver if you are eligible). A payment coupon and self-addressed envelope are included in the schedule of classes for your convenience. Note: Do not send cash in the mail.Refunds
If you apply within the same semester, fees are 100% refundable if you officially drop your classes during the first 10 college days of instruction for all full-semester classes (or by Friday of the first week of instruction for a short-term course). Approximately three weeks are required to process refunds. Refund requests are available from the business office.A refund application must be initiated by the student and before the end of the current semester.
Books and Supplies
The cost of books and supplies varies from student to student. However, a good estimate is $250 per year.Parking Fees
If you wish to park a motorized vehicle on campus you must pay a parking fee, either for the semester or on a daily basis. If you drive three to five days a week, it is more economical to purchase a parking permit (decal) at the business office counter, located in the administration building. Automobiles are $30 per semester and $15 per summer session; motorcycles $8 per semester and $4 per summer session. If you do not wish to purchase a semester permit, you may purchase a one-day permit for $1 from machines located in campus parking lots. Visitor parking is located in front of the administration building, with meters for 25 cents per 15 minutes. Click here for a map of the campus with parking areas indicated.
