This is a four year construction trade program that leads to an A.A. degree or certificate. Carpenters typically build commercial, light commercial, and residential structures from the foundation to roof, which includes concrete and wooden foundations, framing, exterior finishes, flooring, roofing, doors, windows and sky-lighting.
|
All of the Carpenters courses offered by the Carpenters Apprenticeship are certified by the National Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (NJATC) and approved by the California Department of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS). As such, they contain all of the elements of specific training including syllabi, goals and objectives, texts, training materials, tests, and grading policies. Carpenter Apprentices must pass the required tests and/or interviews given by the local JATC. Applicants who do not pass the tests and/or interviews are allowed to retest after they have improved their skills. |
