Inside Wireman This is a five-year construction trade program that leads to an A. A. degree or certificate. Electrical technicians typically install wiring, conduit, breaker boxes and components, motors and controls, lighting, switches, and all wiring, components, and controls associated with the interior and exterior of commercial buildings and sites. Sound and Communications This is a three-year construction trade program that leads to an A. A. degree or certificate. Sound and Communications technicians typically install telephone, television, security, and data transmission components and systems in residential and commercial buildings and sites. |
All of the Electrical courses offered by the Electrical Apprenticeship are certified by the National Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (NJATC) and approved by the California Department of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS). As such, they contain all of the elements of specific training including syllabi, goals and objectives, texts, training materials, tests, and grading policies. Electrical Apprentices must pass the required tests and/or interviews given by the local JATC. Applicants who do not pass the tests and/or interviews are allowed to retest after they have improved their skills. |
