This is a three-year construction trade program that leads to an A. A. degree or certificate. Ironworkers typically work with rebar, concrete, girder construction, rigging operations, and structural steel for commercial buildings and structures.
|
All of the Ironworkers courses offered by the Ironworkers Apprenticeship are certified by the National Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (NJATC) and approved by the California Department of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS). As such, they contain all of the elements of specific training including syllabi, goals and objectives, texts, training materials, tests, and grading policies. Ironworker Apprentices must pass the required tests and/or interviews given by the local JATC. Applicants who do not pass the tests and/or interviews are allowed to retest after they have improved their skills. |
