Anton Chekhov's THE SEAGULL

Written by Anton Chekhov
In a new version by Christopher Hampton
Directed by Janis Stevens

The Seagull was the first of Chekhov’s great works and is celebrated as one of the most important plays of the nineteenth century. Guests assemble at a country house for the staging of a play, while behind the scenes, romantic jealousies, self-doubt and the ruthless pursuit of happiness confuse lives, loves and literature. Our production seeks to offer an impressionistic feel of turn-of-the-century Russia and the comedic poignancy of the characters brought to life in this extraordinary play.
