The Shins 'Wincing' isn't wince-worthy
By Andrew Clementi, Web Editor
My musical tastes tend towards those of someone twice my age. I generally don’t enjoy contemporary music, which is why I was surprised to be enjoying The Shins recent album, “Wincing the Night Away.”

'Last King' reminds us how sweet is our freedom
By Charles Glover, Staff Writer
A funny thing happened to me after I finished a screening of "The Last King of Scotland," I thought about the Iraq war. I thought of the war because here is a movie about a dictator, who got the people of his country on his side, took over the country, and then caused great misery throughout his country.
B-boys do battle for the crown at BVHS
By Vanessa Labi, Staff Writer
The "Ashes to Ashes" b-boy competition on Saturday was sick, tight, wicked, and in a word: mad ridiculous, yo! O.K., that's three words, but my point is that the show was definitely worth the eight bucks.
Jackman, Bale try magic in 'The Prestige'
By Kevin Rodriguez, Special to The Current
It can be hard to picture Hugh Jackman without the adamantium claws from his role as Wolverine in the X-Men film series, and it's also hard to picture Christian Bale not wearing the bat suit from last years, "Batman Begins." Both of these actors have put down their comic icons, however, and have picked up a bit of magic for a film entitled "The Prestige." |

It's the ultimate break dancing battle scene...cue old school/underground hip-hop music, pulsing with bass. Enter b-boy, busting out his best moves he's been practicing daily, sealing it off with a floor pose — one hand holding up the entirety of his body weight. No, this isn't the movie, You Got Served. It's the real deal for Sacramento Break-dance Crew, Flexible Flave.
