INTRODUCTION:

American River College’s Disabled Student Programs & Services is specifically designed to open the doors to educational opportunity for students with disabilities.

Our purpose is to provide an equal opportunity for students to gain the maximum benefit from their educational experiences. The philosophy of DSPS is to encourage independence and personal empowerment.

Specialized services and academic accommodations are provided to meet the individual needs of students with disabilities to help them achieve successful completion of their college goals.

The Front Desk welcomes you!! We are the initial contact for you within Disabled Student Programs & Services. It is crucial that you visit us prior to contacting any other department on campus.

  • Academic and Career Counseling
  • Program Planning
  • Support Services
  • Assessment testing, if needed
  • Personal Counseling

The Front Desk provides the following services:

  • Scheduling of counseling appointments
  • Tape Recorder check-out for student use
  • Academic Assessment
  • Test Proctoring Arrangements
  • School Application/Priority Registration Assistance
