All support services are available at DSPS through the General Disabilities Support Services Department. To request services you must first set up an appointment with your academic counselor and, your counselor must complete a Service Request Form to make you eligible for receiving support services.

 

Typical services for students with general disabilities:

Tutor:

Assists students in specific subject areas. Helps student to identify and clarify problem(s) while providing encouragement, and fostering independence and self-confidence. Scheduling of tutoring sessions is based upon tutor and tutees open time. Tutoring must be done on campus.


In-Class Aide:


Will assist students who have physical disabilities. This may entail getting "hands-on" assistance with library research, computer usage, laboratory classes, etc. Based on the disability needs, your in-class aide may or may not have taken the course.
