American River College works cooperatively with the State of California Department of Health Services and local health care facilities to ensure that allied health students meet or exceed minimum requirements for health professionals and are free of communicable or disabling disease that would interfere with the activities required for the program for which they are applying. Requirements vary within the allied health programs. Consult your professor regarding the specific requirements for the program in which you are enrolled. *The Health Center only offers a combined Rubeola (Measles)/Mumps/Rubella (German Measles) vaccine. **The $50.00 cost is for the combination MMR vaccine. ***Available to age 18 or older. Those under age must be referred to outside resources.

Tuberculosis Skin Test (PPD) OR Negative Chest X-Ray, if history of positive skin test |
Skin test:
$5.00 each. Failure to return for reading the test will result in a
$5.00 fee for retesting. Referral for chest x-ray, if necessary. Note: TB skin test must be done within one (1) month of the beginning of clinical experience. If a student is a known positive from previous test or has a positive skin test upon entrance to the program, a copy of an x-ray report verifying freedom from tuberculosis must be provided to the Health Center. The x-ray must have been done within a year of entry. Students are responsible for cost of x-ray and/or follow-up care. (Check with your professor for TB clearance for subsequent semesters.) |
