Welcome! The American River College
Honors Program is a community of students and faculty who are dedicated to
the pursuit of intellectual and personal enrichment in an open and
challenging academic environment. The Program offers courses that
partially fulfill the general education graduation requirements for an A.A.
degree. Also, the Honors Program curriculum prepares students for
transfer to four-year institutions by fulfilling the Intersegmental General
Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC). Please see a counselor for
further information regarding graduation and transfer requirements. Courses
in the American River College Honors Program promote intellectual development
and academic achievement at an advanced level. Students in an Honors
section are more responsible for classroom participation and presentation,
and receive a more in-depth sequence of instruction. These course
objectives are met through any combination of the following approaches:
Successful completion of
an Honors section will result in higher levels of student comprehension and
mastery of subject material. All Honors courses are approved for ARC
general education and UC/CSU transfer credit. I'm interested. Tell me more! Click here to complete an information form and we will contact you about becoming a part of the Honors Program at American River College.
