Use the Library Catalog (LOIS) to find books, videos, and other material in the library collection.
The LOIS Help pages should answer most of your questions.
If not, this step-by-step tutorial explains things quite nicely as well.
The Los Rios library system is comprised of the four main colleges (ARC, SCC, CRC, FLC) and the El Dorado and Natomas Centers.
Students have access to all six locations in the system, either by visiting the library in person or by electronically requesting material.
Most library items can be requested and transferred from one location to another.
This allows students to pick up and return library material to their nearest library, regardless of where they are enrolled.
Non-circulating material cannot be requested for transfer.
Consult the Request page from LOIS Help for more information and instructions on how to submit a request.
Material from your courses is kept on Reserve at the library.
Examples of course material are textbooks, chapters, articles, class notes, etc.
This is material that instructors ask the library to reserve and make available to the entire class.
Reserve material usually has a limited loan period, such as two hours.
For distance students, material may be kept on electronic reserve.
Material on e-reserve is held electronically in PDF format.
All students have access to e-reserve by using their Access Cards.
Reserve material can be found using the Library Catalog (LOIS).
Look for the Reserves search button.
For more information on course reserves, visit the Course Reserves page.
For e-reserves, consult our e-reserve FAQ.
