Checklist for the Re-entry Student 
to Help Achieve Success

Take advantage of these resources and services to help you succeed in college. Contact the Re-Entry Center about these services, or click on the red links below. 

  • Orientation. This will provide an overview of admission and registration procedures, certificates and degrees, transfer information, financial aid, career resources, and campus services.
  • Assessment. Free assessment exams are highly recommended, and sometimes required, for placing students into classes on the correct level.
  • Counseling. It is a good idea to see a counselor before you first enroll in classes and then on a regular basis throughout your college career.  Counselors can help you with academic planning, career exploration, and personal counseling.
  • Starter courses.  Here are some great courses to help you get off to a good start in college:
