The Beavers finished sixth at the NorCal finals at Ft. Washington Country Club in Fresno.  Peter Lansburgh and Jeremiah Kim tied for fourth in the individual scoring with a two-round score of 149, qualifying both golfers for the State Championships next Monday, May 14, at Merced Golf and Country Club.  The team just missed qualifying for the State tournament, as only the top four scores advance as a team.

In the final Big 7 Tournament of the season, the Beavers turned in one of their best team efforts of the spring.  Jason Gilbert covered the Empire Ranch Golf Course with a 71 to lead five ARC golfers with sub-80 scores: Zack Carter shot a 73, Peter Lansburgh 75, Jeremiah Kim 76, and Mike Jimenez 79.  The Beavers completed the regular season fourth in the Big 7 standings and qualified for the NorCal Championships, to be held May 7 at Ft. Washington.

Butte 404, Napa Valley 406, Shasta 415 

The Beavers improved their team score, but so did the top three schools as ARC finished fourth in the Big 7 Tournament #11 at Riverview Golf and Country Club in Redding.  Jason Gilbert led the Beavers with a 75, Peter Lansburgh was right behind with a 76, and Jeremiah Kim shot a 78.


april 17, 2007

Sierra 380, Santa Rosa 394, Delta 397, ARC 398

Shasta 424, Napa Valley 429, Butte 430     

Jason Gilbert fired a 74 and Peter Lansburgh carded a 77 to lead the Beavers to a fourth-place finish in the Big 7 Conference Tournament #10 at Catta Verdera Country Club.  ARC was only one stroke behind third-place Delta and four behind second-place Santa Rosa, leaving the Beavers with another tournament in which they were in the thick of the competition, but just off the pace.

Playing under cool and windy conditions, the Beavers got three solid rounds at Windsor Country Club, but it was not enough to break into the top three in the Big 7 tournament.  Jason Gilbert fired a 73, Peter Lansburgh shot a 76, and Zack Carter finished with a 79 to lead ARC.


april 3, 2007

Sierra 372, Delta 375, Santa Rosa 378, ARC 393

Shasta 405, Butte 407, Napa Valley DQ

The Beavers challenged in the eighth Big 7 Tournament at Elkhorn Country Club in Stockton, but found themselves out of the top three teams.  Jason Gilbert led ARC with a round of 74, and Zack Carter shot a 77, but they were the only two Beavers to break 80.

The Beavers returned to form at Silverado Country Club in Napa as three players shot in the 70s and kept the team in contention throughout.  Peter Lansburgh shot a 73 that was only two strokes off the low score for the tournament.  Jason Gilbert added a round of 75, and Gordon Kashiwagi finished with a 78.

ARC 420, Shasta 428, Napa Valley 437

Scores for all the teams were up in the Big 7 tournament as players struggled with the Tierra Oaks course in Redding.  The Beavers were well off the pace as only Peter Lansburgh’s 74 was the team’s only round under 80.  Lansburgh’s score was only one stroke off the tournament’s lowest round, a 73 by Sierra’s Nick Neal.

In a three-way meet, the Beavers could not keep pace with the Mustangs and the Bear Cubs at Windsor Golf Course in Santa Rosa.  Mike Jimenez shot a 78 and Jeremiah Kim 79 to lead ARC, but Delta’s Joe Drago finished with a 70 to lead to match.

The Beavers stumbled at Chico’s Bidwell Golf Course as the team’s best score was six strokes off the Big 7 tournament’s medalists, Santa Rosa’s Matt Anderson and Butte’s Luke Barnum.  ARC’s best score was turned in by Jason Gilbert, who finished with a 77.  Peter Lansburgh shot a 78 and Jeremiah Kim a 79.

Playing the Oakmont course in Santa Rosa, the Beavers received solid rounds from Gilbert Jason (74), Gordon Kashiwagi (75), and Peter Lansburgh (78), but finished fourth in the Big 7 tournament.  Sierra’s Nick Neal and Delta’s Joey Ferrari fired rounds of 70 to take medalist honors.

The Beavers took fourth place at the season’s third Big Tournament, but found themselves only five strokes out of second place.  Playing under ideal conditions at Teal Bend, ARC’s Jason Gilbert tied for a second-place finish in the tournament with a round of 73.  Peter Lansburgh was only one stroke off that total at 74, and Jeremiah Kim finished with a 77.

Posting his best score of the season, the Beavers’ Mike Jimenez fired a 73 at Teal Bend to earn medalist honors, but it was not quite enough for ARC to top the Mustangs.  Jimenez led four ARC golfer who shot in the 70s—Jason Gilbert finished with a 75 and Peter Lansburgh and Gordon Kashawagi both had a 79—but still came a couple of shots shy of Delta.

Playing under ideal conditions at Morgan Creek in Roseville, the Beavers did not have any golfers break 80 in the Big 7 Tournament.  Zack Carter finished with an 80, ARC’s lowest round of the afternoon.

The Beavers played Morgan Creek in Roseville after a 10-day layoff, and the break produced only one golfer under 80.  Jason Gilbert shot a 79 on the par-72 course, a score that was six strokes off the medalist, Aaron Barones of Delta.

In the first Big 7 Tournament of the spring, the Beavers finished third in the competitive field as Jason Gilbert and Peter Lansburgh turned in solid rounds.  Santa Rosa took top honors at Stockton Country Club behind medalist Darren Shaw’s 70 and the third-best score; Gilbert finished with a 74 and fourth place, and Lansburgh carded a 75, good enough for fifth.

Behind Jason Gilbert, who carded a match low 71 at Elkhorn Country Club in Stockton, the Beavers earned a convincing win.  Peter Lansburgh came in second with a 72 round, and Zack Carter tied for fourth with a solid 75.

ARC 389, Delta 391, Butte 391

Playing through the wet, stormy conditions at Bidwell Park in Chico, the Beavers edged the Mustangs and Roadrunners in the non-conference match-up.  Peter Lansburgh shot a 73, putting him in a three-way tie for top honors.  Jason Gilbert finished with a 77 and Jeremiah Kim carded a 78 to pace ARC to the win.

The Beavers had difficulty with the Silverado course as Peter Lansburgh was the only player to shoot in the 70’s with a 77 round.  Jason Gilbert’s 81 was eight strokes off medalist Aaron Briones’s 73.

Playing in cold, overcast conditions at Teal Bend, the Beavers had strong performances from their top three golfers, but the Wolverine’s top six had a tighter grouping of scores.  ARC’s Jason Gilbert and Peter Lansburgh finished with 73’s and a three-way tie for second behind medalist Steve Riley of Sierra, who carded a 72.  Jeremiah Kim turned in a 76 to round out the top scorers for the Beavers.

The Beavers opened the season under nice conditions at Teal Bend, but not nice enough to make up a one-stroke difference against the Bear Cubs.  Peter Lansburgh finished with a par 72 to earn medalist honors, and teammate Jason Gilbert was second with a 73.
