Golf Season Heading for BVC Showdown
April 22, 2004At the Santa Rosa
Country Club on April 22, 2004, the Beavers regained first place
over Sierra College by shooting a 379 team score.
Matt Hollinsead continued his
excellent play with a 71, followed by former Sheldon High teammate
Stefan Von Seeger with a 74.
The Beaver’s had struggled the past few weeks,
falling from first place to second, but now appear to be on a roll to
finish strong at the last Conference Tournament at Castle Oaks Golf
Course on April 27. ARC goes into the final tournament with a 2 point
lead over Sierra who finished in fourth place at the last BVC Tourney.
The Bay Valley Conference will be taking 26 players
into the NorCal Championship at the Stockton Country Club on May 3.
The breakdown will be: top 3 teams and 8 individuals. Tuesday, April
27 tournament will determine teams and individuals for NorCals.

March 11, 2004-Bay
Valley Tournament #4
The Beavers went to Chico on March 11, 2004,
for BVC #4 Tournament and came away with an impressive first place
victory! ARC shot a
4-over par 364 on a fairly difficult Bidwell Creek Golf Course.
Matt Hollinsead lead the Beavers with a
70, followed by Gordon Kashiwagi-72, Vince Venard-73, Tyler Ward-74,
Jason Stevens-75, and Thomas Steinhoff-79.
The victory increases ARC lead on first
place with still a tournament remaining. The next tourney is
Thursday, March 18 at Wilcox Golf Course in Red Bluff.

outstanding effort in the rain. The win moves ARC into
first place!

The Beavers are off to a good
start by finishing fourth in the very tough field of 13 colleges at
Stanford University. They finished with score of 395 led by Thomas
Steinhoff, 73.
The Beavers won the next 3 matches by
beating Modesto 369 to 402. Led by Thomas Steinhoff, 71; Matt
Hollinsead, 73; Vince Venard, 73 and Gordon Kashiwagi, 74.
Next, a win over at Napa and Sierra at Chardonay with Matt
Hollinsead, 71 and Tyler Ward, 73 leading the way. In our
third match versus Santa Rosa the Beavers shot another hot 369 with
Matt Hollinsead leading the way with a 71.
The first Bay Valley Conference
tournament was played at Stockton Country Club with the Beavers
finishing a disappointing third place. Vince Venard lead the Beavers
with a 71. With Steinhoff, Hillinsead and Ward shooting 79's. This
was the first of twelve BVC Tournaments. The next one is on our home
course, Teal Bend, February 27.
