The Beavers
won all but two races, but they did not have the depth to
overcome the Mustangs. ARC’s Kevin Meyers had an
outstanding meet, winning three individual events: the 100
back, 500 free, and 100 breast. Several other Beavers also
turned in strong performances. Chad Rinde won the 1000 free
and finished second in the 100 fly and 100 breast. Alex
Newcomb turned in his best 100 fly race of the season with a
1:02.31, while Sebastian Cordoba won the 100 free in 50.41. |

Against the
Pirates, both Beaver relay teams were out touched at the
wall, creating a big 14-point swing in the score. Kevin
Meyers won the 100m backstroke in a time of 54.86, one
second off the school record he set in this year’s opening
meet in Santa Rosa. Robert Blakely won the 200 individual
medley in 2:09.94. Both Alex Newcomb and Chad Rinde had
great races, turning in personal bests in their events, the
100 fly, 100 back, and 200 free. |

The Beavers
opened the season in a 10-team relay meet at Santa Rosa,
taking sixth place in the tough competition. ARC’s top
performance was turned in by Alex Newcomb, Robert Blakely,
Chad Rinde, and Sebastian Cordoba in the 200 medley relay
when the foursome was clocked at 1:53.32, fast enough for a
third place finish. Another fast finish came from the 400
individual medley where Rinde, Antony Heiland, Josh Bohannan,
Cordoba, and Blakely placed second overall. |
