Big 7 Conference Meet

The Beavers finished third in the Big 7 as every swimmer turned in her best time and contributed points to the final score. The women’s 200 free relay finished second in the conference and with the fifth fastest time in the state. The 200 medley relay, 400 free relay, 800 free relay were all top three in the conference.  Megan Conover finished second overall in the 50 free, and Rochelle Yomogida was fifth, both dropped close to a full second off their previous bests and had outstanding swims.  Conover also swam the 200 free, finishing seventh and the 100 free, finishing fifth.  Yomogida swam the 50 and 100 back; she finaled in both, finishing fifth in both events.  Alexis Reiber and Melissa Maestas, both freshmen, had strong performances and finished top eight in all three of their events. Tracy Kinnard also finished top eight in all three of her events—the 200 individual medley, 100 individual medley and 100 breast.  She was top 16 in the state in the 100- and 200 IM.  Jamie Eggers and Beth Groark had great swims and showed off all of their hard work by dropping well over nine seconds from their best times.  Emily Morgan swam the mile and posted her best time of the season.  Liz Abrams and Anna Spivak also earned points for the team in their three events, swimming their best times for the season.

Diving

The ARC divers had an excellent conference meet, scoring great points for the team.  Amy Howell had her best performance of the season, finishing second in the conference on both boards.  Stacy Ervin was third and Darla Green was fourth.

Cuesta Invitational

1-1 Overall

0-0 Conference

The Beavers finished 15th out of 34 teams, largely due to several ladies becoming sick while in San Luis Obispo.  As a result, they did not have their best relays.  The team overall swam well, according to Coach Bethani Black, as several swam very close or right on their best times.  Alexis Reiber turned in her best times of the season in two events.  The first came in the 500 free, where she finished in 5:46.23, and then she was clocked at 29.76 in the 50 fly.  Melissa Maestas had her personal best in the 100 free, with a time of 59.98.  All three ARC divers scored in the top eight of 24 divers on both boards.  The team had an excellent meet, especially Amy Howell.  “She had an excellent meet,” said Black, “she is finding confidence and diving beautifully.”
