4 Steps to Successful Transfer
Step 1: Choose a Major
Choose a major as soon as possible. (A major is an academic subject that you want to specialize in. ) Your major will determine the four-year school you transfer to and the course work you will need to complete at ARC.

Step 2: Choose a College
Visit the Transfer Center and use our college guides and college catalogs, or
use our online college guide
sites to research and pick the best college for you.
Step 3: Meet With Your Counselor
Your American River College counselor will help ensure that you're taking the
right courses to transfer. You can make an appointment by calling (916)
484-8572.
Step 4: Apply, Apply, Apply
The Transfer Center has computers available for you to apply for colleges
online. Our staff is ready to help you with your online applications.
